The Foscam FI8910W is one of the latest IP cameras from FOSCAM and continues from its highly popular and successful predecessor the FI8918W. There is one very significant upgrade with the Foscam FI8910W: it’s designed to mitigate the loss of daytime colour accuracy that plagues most IR night vision network cameras by using an “embedded IR-cut filter" that provides enhanced picture and colour quality.

The IR-Cut filter automatically adjusts the lighting exposure via mechanical filter to provide true and accurately coloured images that are not washed out whilst also adjusting to changing light conditions. In addition, the FI8910W has an upgraded and higher quality external housing.

The Foscam FI8910W Wireless IP Camera features high quality video and audio, pan/tilt, remote internet viewing, motion detection, night-vision, embedded IR-Cut filter as well as a built in network video recording system.

The FI8910W is a wireless or wired, pan/tilt IP camera solution for indoor use. It combines a high quality digital video camera, remote pan/tilt ability with network connectivity and a powerful web server to bring clear video to your desktop or smart-phone from anywhere on your local network or over the Internet. The high quality video image is transmitted with upto 30fps speed on the LAN/WAN by using M-JPEG hardware compression technology.

The image resolution is 640 x 480 (300k Pixels). The Foscam FI8910W camera is based on the TCP/IP standard. The control, management and maintenance of the camera is done simply by using your browser to remotely configure and upgrade the firmware. The Foscam FI8910W IP camera can reach up to 8 meters of visibility in absolute darkness with 11 infrared LED's.

In addition, it is smart-phone compatible (iPhone, Android & Blackberry) as well as viewable over the internet network using the standard Safari browser (no app necessary). The camera functions well as an iPhone baby monitor or as part of a home or office security system with remote internet monitoring ability.

It’s Wireless - Although it also has an Ethernet port for physical connectivity, being wireless means that it can connect to your 802.11b/g network when an Ethernet connection is not available and allowing for an easier installation.

Pan/Tilt Support - Allows you to remotely change the orientation of the camera 300 degrees horizontally, and 120 degrees vertically from any pc or smart-phone.

Night Vision - Allows you to see in complete darkness (up to 26 feet / 8 metres) with its 11 built in LEDs, being a day / night camera the video is colour during the day and during the night it is black & white.

Two-Way Audio - The embedded microphone and speaker enable you to remotely listen in to the camera surroundings and also talk to people by the camera.

Motion Detection - Receive email notification with photos whilst using the alarm trigger function and see who is at your front door when you’re out from anywhere in the world.

Dynamic IP Address Support - Allows you to access your camera feed outside your home/office network even if your IP address changes.

Web Browser Monitoring and Control - Since this is an IP Camera it has to be self-sufficient, meaning it cannot rely on software running on a separate computer to function. That’s a good thing! Since the device itself does not have a keyboard or display… setup, control, and monitoring are controlled via web browser. Simply launch a browser on your computer (iPad, or smart phone) and simply type in the camera’s IP address to interact with it.
